Beetle will do anything to get a little extra sleep. In the Sunday page above, he invents a special day just for Sarge. As far as we know, there is no "National Sergeants Day."

In this strip from 2008, Beetle decides that he should have his own day.

Family holidays, like Mother's Day and Father's Day, are usually not recognized in Beetle Bailey. But in 2017 Beetle honored Sarge for his paternal qualilties by serving him breakfast in bed.

Veterans Day, which is celebrated every year on 11/11 is a federal holiday that honors the service of those who have served in the military. Beetle even tries to take advantage of this important day.

What Beetle needs is a National Goof Off Day. Then he would have a legitimate reason to spend the day in bed.
