Mother's Day and Father's Day are important holidays to celebrate in a family strip like Hi and Lois. We rarely miss the opportunity to pay tribute to our parents in a special Sunday page.

The classic example above from 1996 does not involve the typical Mother's Day scenario of breakfast in bed, flowers and cards, a meal at a restaurant or simply a day off for Lois. Trixie is thinking about all the different family units that are found in the animal kingdom. This is pretty sophisticated scientific knowledge for a little baby but we are always stretching credibility with Trixie. It has a sweet ending, which is what counts.

This recent epidsode from 2020, illustrated by Eric Reaves, is a more typical overview of Lois's family life. The play on words at the end is a bit of a groaner, but we felt it worked.

Happy Mother's Day to all of our readers!
