“The Folks Behind the Funnies” is a wonderful film featuring timeless interviews with thirteen of King Features’ comic strip creators, talking candidly about themselves and cartoonists, past and present, who inspire them. From “Beetle Bailey,” “The Family Circus” and “Hagar the Horrible” to  “Dennis the Menace” and “Zits,” to name a few, viewers are given an intimate glimpse into their unique perspective on life and The Funnies.

Like many independent films these days, a crowd-funding campaign has been launched on Kickstarter. Hilary Price (“Rhymes With Orange”) posted about the documentary here and Dan Piraro posted about it on his new “Bizarro” site last week.

If you love cartoons and comics, please consider making a donation. There is a week left to contribute to “The Folks Behind The Funnies” Kickstarter campaign.
