John Branch worked full-time at the San Antonio Express-News from 1981 until the spring of 2009 and continues to contribute to the newspaper on a regular basis. He began his cartooning career in his home town at the Chapel Hill Newspaper in 1976, the same year he graduated from the University of North Carolina with a degree in studio art.
His work has been reprinted in The New York Times, USA Today, Newsweek and numerous college newspapers.
A member and former officer of the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists, Branch is the author of “Would You Buy a Used Cartoon from this Man?” and “Out on a Limb.”
